It’s that time of the year already! The troop has begun pre-sales for our Holiday Fundraiser! Pre-sales will run through October 27th. We will once again be selling at Heidelberg Bakery, 9am-noon on Sat-Sun, 29 & 30 Nov, and 6 & 7 Dec.
Like previous years, we are offering three fantastic lines of products:
1) Wreaths, sprays, table centerpieces, miniature decorated trees, and garlands! These handcrafted holiday evergreen items are beautiful and shipped directly to us from a small Minnesota family business to ensure maximum freshness. Wreath hanging hooks and LED lights are also available.
2) White House Christmas ornaments. Celebrate the season with the official 2025 White House Christmas Ornament! We also have discounted 2023, 2022, and 2016 White House ornaments available. Pictures of all are available at https://shop.whitehousehistory.org/collections/ornaments.
3) Maple syrup. 100% pure maple syrup in quarts and pints provided directly by a family owned and operated farm in the Adirondacks!
Those not in the local area can order wreaths and evergreen products for direct delivery to their home with the following link (https://giftitforward.com/fundraising-code/TR895VA001). Prices are higher than local sales which are delivered by Scouts, as shipping is included in the cost.
Order form is in the photo. Please reach out to leader Dan Ruecking at druecking1@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to place an order!

Follow safety rules
Respect the Scout Sign
Do a Good Turn Daily
Wear my uniform properly
Use the Buddy System during all scout activities
Follow the directions of Scout leaders and adult leaders
Actively participate in events that I attend
Think before I speak (Know when it’s time to be serious, no brain rot)
Leave things better than I found it (Clean up messes, police campsites, etc.)
On September 6th Troop 895 went on a wonderful ten-mile hike through the historic area of Mannases where the battles of Bull Run occurred. Along with the troop several Arrow of Light cub scouts joined us for the first half of the hike. The troop had lots of fun and took turns navigating the trail. We made good time on the hike despite stopping at every tree to exterminate its spotted lantern fly population which is invasive to the area.
